Is my current email address listed in the directory?
No. None of your email addresses will ever be listed in the directory. We send you notifications via a blind Email system. The people trying to contact you never have access to your Email address. It is up to you, if you want to contact them.
What is listed in the LookMeUp directory?
Your current name and address. You have control over how much of your address is shown in the directory. We will be adding the option of a phone listing very soon.
How is LookMeUp better than the Yellow pages?
The Yellow pages only allows you to find someone if they have a landline phone number. What if you only have a cell phone number or no phone number at all? You can have a listing in the LookMeUp directory no matter the type of contact information.
Secondly, people can only find you in the Yellow pages with your current name and address. This is where the LookMeUp directory shines. Even if your name changed, people can still find you.
Do I have to add Email addresses, instant messengers or phone numbers?
No. You have control over how much or how little search information is in the system. Search data can be added and deleted at any time.
Is this just another social networking site?
No, it is not. With other social networking sites, you have to actively make and keep connections to other people. With the LookMeUp directory, you only have to manage your own contact information. Furthermore, people do not need to be a member to contact you like other Web 2.0 sites.
